NEW VENUE LOCATION: Join us at Broadmeadow United Methodist Church on March 29th 11AM - 3PM!
Join us for Transgender Day of Visibility 2025! — Come celebrate the resilience, passions, and contributions of transgender people, while raising awareness of the issues transgender people face.
TDOV was established in 2010 by trans advocate Rachel Crandall, and in response to the overwhelming majority of media stories about transgender people being focused on violence. She hoped to create a day where people could celebrate the lives of transgender people, while still acknowledging the discrimination that trans people face.
Attacks on the transgender community have never been so prominent and dangerous. Since taking office in January, our new federal administration has baselessly attacked the transgender community by means of discriminatory executive orders. These orders call for denying the gender of trans people, denying correctly identifying gender markers on passports, moving trans women into men’s prisons, banning trans people from serving in the military, defunding gender-affirming medical care for trans youth, barring schools from helping students with social transition, and banning trans women from participating in women’s sports. As Sarah Warbelow, the legal director at Human Rights Campaign, says “When you have the nation’s commander-in-chief demonizing transgender people, it certainly sends a signal to all Americans.” The signal is clear. And, trans people are being hurt, like never before. This means we must work even harder to create spaces where trans people can exist authentically, feel safe, experience community support and thrive. We, quite literally, cannot do this without you.
Join us at this necessary event as we celebrate trans people and share what trans joy means to us. On TDOV, we unite as community members, families, organizations, and leaders to affirm that our joy is a powerful act of resistance. Help us push back against discrimination and provide love and support that is so desperately needed at this time. Take a stand for all trans people, and fill space for those who cannot take a stand for themselves. This is a significant event and your participation demonstrates collective action and true solidarity with and in support of the transgender and gender non-conforming community!
